The project
TRC were appointed by East Midlands Homes to undertake the replacement of over 50 Heritage sash and casement windows at Park Lodge in Clarendon Park, Leicester. This project involved carefully removing the existing windows and installing new, energy-efficient models that adhere to Heritage standards to maintain the building’s historical integrity. The work aimed to enhance both the aesthetic and functional aspects of Park Lodge, preserving its traditional look while providing modern benefits. TRC’s experience with similar projects ensured the windows were replaced with minimal disruption and high attention to detail, aligning with conservation and building regulations.
TRC’s heritage sash windows are designed for both listed buildings and architect-led new developments, utilising a classic weight and pulley mechanism and traditional putty to secure Slimlite glass, which can be single or double-glazed. Slimlite provides a historically authentic appearance while meeting modern acoustic and thermal standards. Each window features solid glazing bars, individual glass panels for character, and is finished with three coats of spray-applied microporous water-based paint for smooth operation and durability.
TRC’s Heritage casement windows are available in hardwood or softwood frames with traditional putty, and offer historic styling alongside modern thermal and acoustic performance, ensuring warmer, quieter buildings with lower energy bills. These windows are customisable in various colours, finishes, and opening styles to match original or existing designs, and include safety restrictors based on preference.
