TRC Contracts was appointed to design, manufacture, and install 260 replacement triple-glazed timber sash windows at Bramley House in London. The project required full compliance with PAS 2030 standards, ensuring the highest levels of energy efficiency and sustainability.
With the flats remaining fully occupied throughout the works, TRC carefully planned and executed the final installation to minimise disruption to residents while delivering durable, high-performance timber sash windows.
Energy efficiency and sustainability in conservation areas
Bramley House is undergoing an extensive refurbishment to improve both its thermal insulation and aesthetic appeal. As part of the upgrade, the existing box sash windows and timber casement windows were replaced with new timber sash windows featuring triple glazing, reducing heat loss and improving overall ventilation. Where required, fire-rated double glazing units were installed to meet specific safety regulations.
The new timber sash window units were designed to achieve an impressive U-value of 0.7 W/(m2K), significantly improving energy efficiency while maintaining the character of the building. These high-performance timber windows contribute to long-term sustainability, offering durability and modern performance while respecting the period property aesthetic.
