The building fronts onto Old Queen Street and Lewisham Street, with windows overlooking both facades, characterised by living spaces with generous ceiling heights up to three and four metres, giving an extremely bright and airy ambience.
The larger apartments have spacious drawing rooms, formal dining areas, kitchen/breakfast areas and studies/libraries. Some of the drawing rooms incorporate deep bay windows, creating distinctive living spaces rich in character.
The works comprise the conversion of the 27,190 sq ft office building into 16 luxury three-bedroom apartments, one five-bedroom apartment, and a one-bedroom penthouse. The newly refurbished building offers stunning views over Birdcage Walk, and enjoys close proximity to some of London’s famous landmarks, such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
The building has been carefully extended at roof level to provide additional accommodation, and benefits from a feature marble entrance foyer, complete with concierge. The basement has been completely remodelled, and has a gym, sauna, steam room, children’s play area, and an indulgent treatment room.
The design utilises air-source heat pumps to meet BREEAM Excellent standards for residential refurbished buildings. The project also included minor remedial works to the rear of the building towards Old Queen Street, in keeping with the surrounding buildings in the conservation area.
