A stunning new development
London Square Bermondsey SE1 is a mixed-use development built in an emerging, heritage-rich south-east London district by the award-winning developer London Square.
The development is a unique mix of old and contemporary buildings comprising one, two and three bedroom apartments, family homes and duplexes as well as Tannery Art galleries and flexible studios and workspaces.
The project
Bermondsey blocks 1, 2 and 6 was another big project for TRC, comprising 320 double glazed aluminium clad balcony doors and around 660 double glazed inward opening tilt and turn windows – a total of over 3,000 sqm of windows and doors.
Multi-award winning architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris specified TRC’s windows and doors, which exceeded the required levels of aesthetics, performance and durability.
TRC’s windows and balcony doors feature a thin aluminium cladding on the external surface of the timber, making our windows as sustainable as timber, but with a minimum lifecycle of 60 years. This is twice as long as uPVC windows, significantly reducing the whole lifecycle cost of the building.
Performance
The windows and doors installed at Bermondsey blocks deliver a wind resistance of up to 99mph and a u-value of 1.2. This level of engineering delivers a warm and comfortable home environment for residents, even in the harshest of conditions, and helps to keep heating bills to a minimum.
TRC’s windows and balcony doors also provide a safe home environment. Aluclad windows have a sophisticated and effective child safety restrictor integrated in the hinges, as well as burglar resistance PAS24:2016.
